Reading Empowering Books.
Writing to Reclaim Ourselves.

Lemons to Lemonade.

We're community of women, hell-bent on sweetening the pitcher for all of us.

I'm an author, feminist, single-mama, daughter, sister, bibliophile, & creator of the Lemons to Lemonade writing group and program.

Hey, I'm Lizzy!

Nearly twenty years ago, I went through a horrible divorce, as a member of a church that "supported" my family largely with excuses, misogyny, and more abuse.

It took me most of those twenty years to recognize the toxicity and abuse we were experiencing. But that doesn't have to be your story.

Because you've found our community. Books, writing, and this sisterhood of empowered women saved me.

Pull up a chair, sister–there's room for your story in this pitcher.

Stack of feminist and empowering books.

"I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn."

My Writing Experience Profoundly Changed Me.

I didn't know this when I started writing, but writing is one of the most powerful ways to support growth and healing. When you put your own experiences onto the page, your brain begins to process it, your body begins to release it, and your voice begins to come back online. What once felt chaotic starts to make sense (even if what happened to you will never really make sense). What felt isolating starts to feel shared. You don't just remember what happened–you begin to reclaim what it means.

  • your brain begins to process it,
  • your body begins to release it,
  • your voice begins to come back online
